AT&T, which plans to introduce its home-security service in 50 markets in 2013, is at the forefront of an industry effort to ease restrictions on alarm installations in Florida, which AT&T believes will ultimately make it easier for consumers to protect their homes. The company is urging lawmakers to pass a bill to reform licensing requirements to make it easier for telecoms to comply with the law. "The net result will allow consumers to have their alarm systems installed quicker and easier," AT&T spokeswoman Stephanie Smith said.
