A bill has been introduced in the House of Representatives that would create a voluntary registry for U.S. veterans who served at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown and who apply for Department of Veterans Affairs services. Canadian authorities acknowledged in 2007 that they had tested the impact of pesticides including Agents Orange and Purple around the New Brunswick base where U.S. National Guard and Reserve troops trained. A veterans advocate said the testing lasted from 1956 to 1984.
