The 2013 BIO International Convention officially started Monday in Chicago as the trade group celebrates its 20th anniversary. The annual event features dozens of seminars, sessions and partnering opportunities. On Wednesday, BIO will hold a keynote luncheon panel entitled "Debt, Taxes, Government Services and Politics -- Is There a Way Out?" featuring former White House chief of staff Erskine Bowles and former Sen. Alan Simpson, who have been advocates for efforts to reduce the federal deficit. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the first BIO conference, which was held in North Carolina in 1993.
