An increase in mobile-device use and the introduction of Internet-enabled televisions will fuel a surge in over-the-top video, eMarketer predicts in a report. The report, "Digital TV and Movie Streaming: A Rising Tide of Devices, Content and Viewing," says more consumers say they would consider dropping cable in favor of online services such as Netflix, with digital-TV viewers forecast to account for 50% of the U.S. Internet population by the end of next year.
