Comcast, in conjunction with Cisco, has released a DOCSIS 3.0-powered version of its wireless gateway that tops out at 270 Mbps. The Xfinity Wireless Gateway is meant to allow for greater connectivity for smartphones, tablets, PCs and gaming consoles to home networks. Comcast also has increased the speeds for its Blast and Extreme 50 plans, with the former going from 25 Mbps on the downstream and 4 Mbps on the upstream to 50/10 and Extreme shifting from 50 Mbps on the downstream and 15 Mbps on the upstream to 105/20.
