The U.S. market is struggling to take in a surplus of natural gas that came as a result of the shale revolution, said Ryan Lance, chairman and CEO of ConocoPhillips. "Prices are at such a major discount to other markets that they undermine investment," he said during a launch ceremony for the Columbia University Center on Global Energy Policy. The country could continue to benefit by "exporting surplus gas as LNG," Lance added.
