The wind industry set new records for annual installations in the U.S. last year, adding more than 13.1 gigawatts of capacity nationwide to bring the cumulative total beyond 60 GW, according to the American Wind Energy Association. The industry's gains illustrate what can happen when there is a predictable policy climate, said Elizabeth Salerno, AWEA's director of industry data and analysis.
