DiversityInc's list of the top 50 companies that are embracing diversity is culled from more than 1,000 survey respondents. Companies are ranked based on factors such as talent-development programs and supplier diversity. Accounting firms PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, Deloitte and KPMG are among the companies on the list.
In a survey by Harris Interactive for Northwestern Mutual, respondents 55 and older listed paying off their mortgage and building savings early as their best financial decisions. Younger people valued starting their savings early and protecting their family.
Stock prices of PepsiCo and Mondelez International have increased more than 8% in the past month, reaching record highs, amid speculation that activist investors Nelson Peltz and Ralph Whitworth will push for a merger. "It would be a very powerful combination and probably lead to considerable synergies between the two companies," said Kevin Dreyer, money manager at GAMCO Investors.
