DARPA's role will involve finding tools to better understand how the brain's nerve and electronic impulses work, with the goal of using this information to benefit service members with brain-related injuries. "Imagine if someone with a prosthetic limb can now play the piano or throw a baseball as well as anybody else, because the wiring from the brain to that prosthetic is direct," President Barack Obama said.
