A rise in new unemployment claims and a decrease in the Mid-Atlantic region's factory activity could point to a moderation in economic growth, according to some analysts. "The evidence is mounting that the economy lost momentum in March and that has carried to April," said Ryan Sweet of Moody's Analytics. The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia also said its business-activity index fell from 2.0 in March to 1.3 in April.
