T-Mobile USA parent Deutsche Telekom has denied a Reuters report that the company is weighing an improved bid to persuade MetroPCS shareholders to approve a merger with T-Mobile USA. In a statement, Deutsche Telekom said the deal on the table was in the best interests of both companies, although it declined to say whether it may eventually alter the terms. MetroPCS shareholders are scheduled to vote on the bid April 12, but some analysts still believe DT will present a new offer, given that two major MetroPCS shareholders and a pair of proxy advisory firms have come out in opposition to the deal.
