Forest Hill Energy-Fowler Farms, which is proposing to build a 39-turbine wind farm in Clinton County, Mich., has filed a lawsuit to stop three townships from enacting special ordinances that would effectively stop the wind project from being built as permitted by the county. The company has invested more than $1 million to make sure the project complies with county zoning rules, the lawsuit stated. "The statute is very clear that townships cannot pass ordinances that are inconsistent with zoning laws," said a lawyer for the developer.
