Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., has introduced bills that would repeal the RFS, remove corn-based ethanol blend requirements and keep ethanol blend rates from rising above 10%. "When the program began in 2005, we were more than 60% dependent on imported energy for our liquid transportation fuels," said Renewable Fuels Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen. "Today, as a result of the RFS, as a result of the increased ethanol production that has occurred with the RFS, we are only 41% dependent on imported oil."
