The prevalence of commensal Staphylococcus aureus nasal carriage varies across Austria, Belgium, Croatia, France, Hungary, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands and the U.K., according to a study published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases. The strains had signs of low levels of drug resistance. The highest levels of drug resistance were detected in France, while the lowest were identified in Sweden.
