A European League Against Rheumatism task force has released guidelines covering the role of imaging in clinical management of rheumatoid arthritis. In developing the recommendations, researchers reviewed several databases, as well as imaging methods including scintigraphy and PET. "We acknowledge that there is still a large amount of research required to optimize the use of imaging tools in routine clinical practice, in particular which joints should be used for disease assessment," they wrote.
