Clean Line Energy Partners has halved the capacity of its proposed Plains & Energy wind-transmission line project, but the scaled-back plan would still be financially and environmentally sound for the Tennessee Valley Authority and other southeastern utilities, Clean Line Energy said. The 700-mile, $2 billion project would carry electricity from wind farms in Oklahoma and Texas to Tennessee. "We think we can provide green power at an attractive, fixed-rate price for TVA and other utilities in the region," said Jimmy Glotfelty, executive vice president for Clean Line Energy.
