Accuracy in breaking-news situations such as the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings is more important than being the first to report something, according to Jim Farley, vice president of news and programming for WTOP in Washington, D.C. "We have a motto that everybody in the newsroom can tell you. It is, 'First get it right, then get it fast,' " Farley said.
