Type 2 diabetes patients with a BMI between 20 and 25 and those who had a BMI greater than or equal to 35 showed a significantly higher mortality risk than those with a BMI between 25 and 30, a study revealed. Researchers also found the risk of vascular mortality rose by 24% in men and 23% in women for every 5-point increase in BMI above 30. The results appear in Diabetes Care.
