Moderate consumption of soy foods doesn't increase the risk of recurrence of breast cancer or of dying from the disease, according to several recent studies. “Some people had feared that soy’s isoflavones might interfere with a hormone-related treatment, such as tamoxifen, but no evidence of that was seen," said Karen Collins, a nutrition adviser with the American Institute for Cancer Research. Dieticians recommend less-processed soy products, such as edamame and tofu.
