The three-month grounding of Boeing's 787 could end soon with approval from the Federal Aviation Administration for a redesigned battery system. The next step is installation of the new system on all 787s -- that has already begun with Japan's All Nippon Airways -- and FAA inspection and verification followed by close monitoring. "The changes are designed to address risks at the battery cell level, the battery level and the aircraft level," the FAA said.
