The K-12 Fond du Lac Ojibwe School in Cloquet, Minn., is feeling the cuts of federal sequestration as the Bureau of Indian Education has cut $410,000 from the school's budget, an 8% reduction. School officials said the cuts have resulted in higher class sizes, vacant staff positions, layoffs and reductions in available classes and programs. Officials say the cuts come at a time when the district was focused on school-improvement initiatives that were improving test scores.
