A HealthPocket survey sheds more light on the gaps in consumer understanding of the Affordable Care Act. Eighty-six percent of survey respondents said they didn't understand differences among the new bronze, silver, gold and platinum health plan designs. Just 4% of respondents understood that the difference is the percentage of medical costs covered. Consumer education is "going to be critical if Americans are to make informed choices about their health care," says HealthPocket CEO Bruce Telkamp.
