Many buy-side firms are having trouble deciding which foreign-exchange platforms would be most beneficial, panelists said at a recent industry conference. "The problem from the buy side is that there are so many platforms out there and not all of them are going to be around in the same form in three to five years from now," said Michael O'Brien of Eaton Vance. "So that means either connecting to all of them or picking winners, and no one wants to pick winners."
