Newly hired administrators should spend time getting to know their predecessor, staff, parents and students before they begin their first day in the position, elementary-school principal Peter DeWitt writes in this blog post. DeWitt shares suggestions based on his transition from a second-grade teacher into the role of principal seven years ago.
