Mobile customer-relationship-management applications are in for a growth spurt, Gartner Research says in predicting a 500% increase this year. The forecast also cites a growing appreciation for software-as-a-service, which Gartner says is expected to be the source of more than 50% of CRM market profits by 2016. Salesforce.com saw 26% growth and $2.5 billion in revenue in 2012, Gartner says.
