The Greencastle-Antrim School District in Pennsylvania is using its federal Keystones to Opportunity grant to purchase 13,000 new books along with SmartBoards, iPads and Kindle e-readers. The schools will schedule daily independent reading time called "The Reading Zone" to help improve literacy in grades 4-8. The district hired three literacy coaches for its elementary and middle school to train teachers in all subjects to incorporate reading in lessons.
