Universities are reporting a skyrocketing number of applications this year, a trend that is leaving many high-school seniors facing rejection alongside their college acceptances, writes California State University professor Rebecca Joseph. While some disappointment is to be expected, Joseph, in this blog post, suggests that students -- as well as their mentors, counselors and parents -- recognize and appreciate the options offered by the colleges and universities that did accept them. "Help your seniors see how the colleges that admitted them will help them experience the joys of higher education in astonishing ways," she writes.
