The Colorado Senate has approved legislation that seeks changes for homeowners insurance, such as allowing policyholders who file total-loss claims to have additional time to compile an inventory of their belongings. The measure, which was prompted by complaints from homeowners in light of 2012 wildfires, also calls for policy language that can be easily understood.
