Metropoulos & Co. and Apollo Global will spend $60 million to open four Hostess plants in the next 8-10 weeks, with the goal of having Twinkies back on store shelves by July. The company plans to hire at least 1,500 workers for the plants but does not intend to hire any union workers, Chief Executive C. Dean Metropoulos said. The new plants will open in Georgia, Kansas, Illinois and Indiana.
