Stress isn't necessarily a result of having too much to do or constant interruptions, but more from a feeling that you can't control what's happening, says Sharon Melnick, author of "Success Under Stress." She says you can be successful even when under stress by understanding what you can control and those issues that are out of your control, such as other people's reactions. "Make sure that you are effective in what you are doing before you ever allow yourself to lose time and focus in frustration over what is not in your control," she says.
