Job seekers looking to change careers and become college admissions officers should be direct about why they want a change, writes W. Kent Barnds, vice president for enrollment, communication and planning at Augustana College in Illinois. They should use their resumes to show how prior experience fits the job and ask local admissions offices if they can shadow someone to learn more, he advises. "Most deans and directors I know probably wouldn't mind conducting an informational interview about contemporary college admissions," Barnds writes.
