Starbucks has shipped more than 850 million K-Cup packs since November 2011, making it one of the top ten food and beverage launches of 2012, according to the marketing research firm Information Resources. Starbucks K-Cups were among a small number of the nearly 1,900 new consumer packaged goods to appear on store shelves last year that achieved IRI's "New Products Pacesetter" status. The premium single-cup category now accounts for about 25% of total coffee sales in grocery stores.
