The Los Angeles Community College board of trustees voted Wednesday to approve higher salaries for its presidents and reduce the car allowances of senior administrators. Under the plan, new salaries for presidents on nine campuses will range from $175,652 to $204,092, up from a previous range of $163,292 to $191,732. Trustee Scott Svonkin dissented, arguing against shifting money to salaries amid recent budget cuts.
