A recent survey finds that 22% of schools in France will adopt a four-and-a-half day school week being proposed by the Education Ministry. Currently, students have weekends and Wednesdays off -- fewer days in school than their peers in Europe or the US -- though the French school day is longer, stretching from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
