Chief information officers hold a precarious position in most companies, with an average tenure of about three years, but experts say CIOs can better their odds for a long and prosperous career by giving their counterparts on the business side of the equation the resources they need to succeed. Rob Enderle, president and principal analyst of the Enderle Group, writes that foremost among these are internal data analysis tools, which identify and track important metrics and promote better decision making in the C-suite.
