Microsoft has introduced Patent Tracker, a website that lists all of its 40,000-plus patents in a database that can be downloaded or viewed online, which follows the company's vow to be more transparent about patent-ownership issues. The list will "help prevent gamesmanship by companies that seek to lie in wait and 'hold up' companies rather than enable a well-functioning secondary market," Microsoft's Brad Smith wrote in a blog post.
