Consumption of three to six alcoholic drinks a week before breast cancer diagnosis was linked to a 15% reduced risk of dying from the cancer compared with no alcohol intake, according to a study in the Journal of Clinical Oncology. Women who drank moderately before or after diagnosis were 25% and 20% less likely to die from cardiovascular problems and other causes, respectively, researchers said.
