Many mothers cite convenience as the top reason they use their mobile phones for shopping, according a survey by Alliance Data Retail Services. More than half of mothers surveyed said they use mobile devices at least once a week for shopping, while 96% said they appreciated SMS and e-mail messages from retailers. "Mobile commerce is an important tool for everyone but especially for moms, as it provides yet another way to help them multi-task their way through the day as they continue to make buying decisions for the household while juggling the rest of their to-do lists," said Melody Gintert, senior manager, market intelligence for Alliance.
