A New Hampshire jury ordered ExxonMobil to pay the state $236 million for the cleanup of groundwater that was contaminated by the fuel additive MTBE. "We appreciate the jurors' service during this long trial, but erroneous rulings prevented them from hearing all the evidence and deprived us of a fair trial," said David Lender, a lawyer representing the company. "We have strong legal and factual arguments to make on appeal."
