The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health has issued guidelines on the maximum allowed exposure to carbon nano-materials for workers at one microgram per cubic meter of air per eight-hour workday. "They've set the limit as low as we can measure. If you find any in the air of a plant, it's probably a bad thing," said Andrew Maynard of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
