Teaching hospitals that offer graduate medical education would see their federal funding cut under the Obama administration's 2014 budget proposal, leaving them less able to train health professionals and care for patients, according to medical organizations. The proposed budget also would trim Medicare spending growth by $371 billion over 10 years, raise costs for new and wealthier beneficiaries, include a move by Congress to prevent a 25% reduction in Medicare physician payments set for next year and eliminate the 2% sequestration cut to Medicare providers.
