Cyrus Amir-Mokri, assistant secretary for financial institutions at the Treasury Department, called on the financial-services industry to help detect cybersecurity threats. "We have had important recent reminders that our financial institutions and markets are vulnerable to malicious cyberattacks and operational failures," Amir-Mokri told participants at SIFMA's Operations Conference. He suggested that industry groups "should have well-developed protocols" to disseminate information to their members.
