Two health care groups have been awarded funds by the ONC to help them launch HIE governance regulatory initiatives. DirectTrust.org, which has been tapped for a one-year, $280,000 contract, will work with the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission in a national accreditation program for Direct Protocol service and product providers. Another one-year contract, this one for $200,000, went to the New York eHealth Collaborative, which will partner with the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology in a project focusing on the adoption of query exchange and secure messaging in different states.
