An Ontario appeals court has overturned a lower court's ruling that protected Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. from a U.S. request to provide information regarding the 15-month closure of the Chalk River reactor in 2009 and 2010. In the U.S. civil suit, Lantheus Medical Imaging sued its insurer Zurich American Insurance after the latter declined to cover losses incurred by Lantheus following the shutdown of the reactor. Lantheus is asking AECL for information about what caused the shutdown and says that may help determine whether the losses should be covered.
