Nearly 60% of executives prefer recruiting from within to find a CFO, according to a survey by Korn/Ferry International conducted on behalf of CFO.com. A would-be CFO must show he or she has a strong commitment to the company to move forward. He or she must also have a strong accounting and controls background.
Texas Tech's Rawls College of Business will debut the School of Accounting on Aug. 15. It will be the only school in Texas with its own accounting program and one of 40 schools in the U.S. with accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
