Private companies will likely keep payrolls steady, not making significant hires or cutbacks, according to a recent survey by Sageworks. The survey finds that companies are reluctant to boost capital spending even as they are posting growth. "Private companies continue to grow at an impressive rate, most notably even in the construction industry," said Brian Hamilton, chairman of Sageworks. "Unprecedented is their lack of hiring over this much time, however."
