It turns out that Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski's seeming endorsement of an expletive uttered by Boston Red Sox star David Ortiz after the bombings in the city wasn't even necessary because the comment was part of cable airings that aren't subject to federal obscenity rules. Also, Boston Red Sox radio partner WEEI used a tape delay, so the comment didn't get out to listeners. However, it's not known if WEEI's syndication partners aired the comment.
