The Baldwin County Fire Rescue building in Georgia will get a pre-engineered metal roof to replace its leaky flat roof. The new roof "will provide [a] better dome, which will help with the heating and cooling and everything, too," said Baldwin County Manager Ralph McMullen.
The Fayette County Board of Education in Georgia is expected to outsource janitorial services to GCA Services Group this week. The move would save the district $300,000 while preserving pay rates for transitioning staff.

A Georgia school district is considering adoption of enVision Math Common Core Standards edition 2012, in part, because of its online resources for teachers. District officials told the local board of education that educators like the curriculum because it offers professional-development resources such as videos about how to teach specific concepts.
Former Union City, Ga., City Manager Steve Rapson was unanimously chosen as county manager of Fayette County, Ga. Rapson was also previously budget director of Fulton County, experience that he likely will draw upon as Fayette County faces declining revenue. Rapson says his top priority is to better relationships between the county and its cities.
