National Louis University violated its policies when it terminated 63 faculty members last year to avert a financial crisis, according to a report from the American Association of University Professors. The AAUP report says the Chicago-area university did not declare a state of financial exigency before the terminations, which included 16 tenured professors. The university, which said it had no choice, hired adjuncts to fill the positions.
