Massachusetts Institute of Technology researchers developed antibodies that are able to bind better to all four serotypes of the dengue virus, a possible step toward effective vaccines, according to a study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The researchers used an antibody called 4E11, and a mutated antibody allowed significantly improved binding to two serotypes and lesser improvements for the other two.
